Arabic manuscript on paper, 223ff. as numbered plus 4 fly-leaves, each folio with 17ll., 14ll. of black naskh, the first, middle and last lines in larger black muhaqqaq, gold and polychrome petalled verse markers, marginal markers in kufic within medallions in gold outlined with blue, sura headings in gold naskh, opening bifolio with illuminated geometric composition flanked by panels with red thuluth on gold ground, the following with four panels of elegant gold thuluth on a blue ground of tight foliate scrolls above and below the text, losses and repairs, in later brown stamped morocco

The illuminated panels of the opening bifolio are decorated with scrolls of tapering split palmettes with small nodes attached to the tendrils that are very similar to that found on a Qur'an dated 1375-6 that bear the name of Turan-Shah, vizir of Shah Shuja', ruler of Shiraz between 1357 and 1384 (David James, Qur'ans of the Mamluks, London, p.196, fig.138).
