A MAMLUK POTTERY BOWL
EGYPT, 14TH CENTURY
Of tall, slightly tapering, cylindrical form rising from tall trumpet foot, with a thin incised band around the mouth, the body with yellow glaze and decorated with thin and thick brown lines with register of alternating looping line and roundel design, plain lines above and below, glaze with areas of flaking, minor losses to the foot, otherwise intact
8 1/8in. (20.4cm.) high; 8 3/8in. (21cm.) diam.
Provenance
Adda Family Collection, formed in Alexandria in the first half of the 20th century.
