Manuscript on brown paper, 9ll. of nasta'liq with the words of the sura al-fatiha in clouds reserved against a gold ground with polychrome scrolling vine, interstices with blue and polychrome arabesque panels, framing the calligraphy a border of earlier gold and polychrome illumination probably originating from a very fine Timurid manuscript, laid down between black floral borders on thick white card with a wide band of gold and polychrome floral illumination, some fading and flaking of paint
