Of rounded form with cusped edges, made of pinned sections of mother-of-pearl forming a central rosette and an outer band of rectangular panels, the reverse with central roundel divided into four radiating panels, minor loss on the reverse

A number of similar small dishes in this technique are known. Two comparable examples are in a private collection (The Heritage of Rauluchnatim, exhibition catalogue, Lisbon, 1996, nos.13 and 14, pp.202-3). A similar dish sold in these Rooms 7 October 2008, lot 264.
