These plates belong to a dinner service of nearly one hundred documented pieces comprising plates and dishes with at least six different diameters between 33 cm. and 17 cm. and a cylindrical beer mug, made for Willem Sautijn (1703-1743) and Maria Henrietta van de Poll (1707-1787) who married on 3 December 1726. Dr. J. Kroes states in Chinese Armorial Porcelain for the Dutch Market that this service must have been made for their copper wedding anniversary: this flower-design in Chinese style was popular in the 1730s. See Dr. J. Kroes, Chinese Armorial Porcelain for the Dutch Market, Zwolle, 2007, pp. 183-184, cat. no. 95. See Christie's Amsterdam 14/16 February 2006, lot 1086 for a tea-service with this coat-of-arms.
