A GEORGE III BRASS-MOUNTED MAHOGANY AND MARQUETRY LONG CASE CLOCK WITH ROCKING SHIP DIAL

The pagoda hood with fretted panels to top and sides, with a pair of brass finials above an arched glazed door flanked by stop-fluted columns, the trunk with arched paneled door below fan spandrels with canted stop-fluted corners, on a paneled base with fan spandrels and shaped plinth, the 11¾ in. wide brass dial with foliate spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial to the matted center, with date aperture below a silvered plaque, signed George Hanson, Windsor, the arch painted with three ships, the central one rocking to the beat of the pendulum, with pierced blued steel hour and minute hands, the eight day movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell, with brass pendulum, two brass weights, and winder, inscribed twice in blue chalk to reverse 'D 63'
