Wood-engraved frontispiece and title vignette, folding colour-printed map at end (map torn and frayed, lightly stained and repaired with old sellotape, some mainly marginal spotting and staining to text). Contemporary half calf, gilt spine with black lettering piece (rather worn). Provenance: R.S. Wardlaw Ramsay, 67th Regt (contemporary signature on an endpaper); some early annotation mostly to the appendix. FIRST EDITION.
