Lot Essay

This flask is of a most unusual shape - an ingenious technique to render a blown vessel which is naturally rounded into a four-sided shape. For similar, but of blue glass, cf. Hotel Drouot, Paris, Verres Antiques et de l'Islam: Ancienne collecton de Monsieur D, 3 June 1985, lot 413.
