AN AKKADIAN BLACK STONE CYLINDER SEAL
CIRCA 2300-2200 B.C.
With two contest scenes of hero attacking a lion and a bull-man attacking an ibex, a seated monkey in the field, inscribed with an Old Babylonian two line cuneiform inscription (dated circa 2000-1600 B.C.) naming the seal's owner as "Sin-bel-ili, servant of the god Amurru"

Formerly in a private collection, Germany, 1976-1978.
