LATE PERIOD-PTOLEMAIC, 6TH-3RD CENTURY B.C.
The lion-headed goddess wearing a close fitting robe, collar, bracelets, tripartite wig and sun-disc with uraeus, standing on integral base with hieroglyphic inscription reading: "May Sekhmet give life to Padiusir", mounted, 5 in. (12.7 cm.) high; a green glazed composition shabti with single column of hieroglyphic inscription, Late Period, 4th Century B.C., 4½ in. Provenance
Acquired by the present owner's late father on the London art market in the late 1970s/early 1980s.
