CASE: hood with domed top above later fret cornice, inset giltwood capped plain columns to the front angles, glazed side panels, convex throat mouldings, trunk door with lenticle and seaweed marquetry all over, conforming decoration to the plinth, later skirting; door key
DIAL: 11 in. square brass dial with scored line border, mask and foliate spandrels to silvered chapter ring signed 'Benj. Collyer London fecit', subsidiary seconds, ringed winding holes and engraved date square to matted centre, later blued steel hands
MOVEMENT: six latched and ring-turned pillars, anchor escapement and internal countwheel strike on bell; later seatboard, pendulum, two weights
