CASE: raised on a laurel-wreathed fluted column and flanked by a bronze figure of Cupid and a quiver of arrows with further attributes of Love, on marble base and further stepped and moulded ormolu plinth
DIAL: white enamel with inner concentric date and signed 'Frd; Berthoud/A Paris', ormolu main hands and blued steel date hand
MOVEMENT: twin barrels with Brocot-type anchor escapement and countwheel strike on bell; winding key
20 in. (50 cm.) high; 16 in. (41 cm.) wide; 8½ in. (22 cm.) deep
