CASE: surmounted by a standing classically-draped figure holding the star-painted spherical pendulum (replaced) in her left hand, the black marble shaped plinth case flanked by rampant lions with gilt shields and centred by further shield cast with an hour glass and flanked by feathered wings
DIAL: 5 in. diameter gilt dial with applied individual gilt Roman chapters, the centre revealing the partially skeletonised movement, the inner ring signed 'Eug Cornu/24 Bu" des Italians/PARIS', blued steel hands
MOVEMENT: twin barrels with rack strike on bell, the back plate engraved with the monogram of Farcot above 'calibre 3, No.51', the last pinion in the going train extended through the top of the case to engage with the pendulum; winding key
