Lot Essay

These monumental campana or 'Borghese' vases are cut from a grey granite, a variant of the granitell or Asbydiabas which was also used for a variety of Royal commissions, including a magnificent ormolu-mounted tazza/jardinière of similarly large proportions, now in Rosendal Castle.
