The Prussian Royal crown and lettering 'VR' indicate this photograph album was undoubtedly made for Princess Victoria Adelaide, eldest child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. She became briefly German Empress and Queen of Prussia in 1888 by her marriage to German Emperor Frederick III whom she married in 1858.
The maker's mark of George John Parry was first recorded for the manufacturing firm of John Dyus & Co. at 28 & 29 New Charles Street, EC [7.6.1877] (J. Culme, The Directory of Gold & Silversmiths, Jewellers & Allied Traders 1838-1914, Woodbridge, Suffolk, 1987, p. 132).
