TERLANO

James Suckling once remarked that, "to say that an Italian cooperative winery (cantina sociale) produces some of the best white wines in its region, if not the whole of the country, may raise an eyebrow or two" but Terlano does just that. Some of the finest whites of Alto Adige are produced by Terlano. The "Lunare," one of Terlano's "selection wines," comes from sandy, easy warming porphyry gravel, grown at 300-400 meters above sea level. Fermentation is temperature controlled, 50 in stainless steel vats and 50 in tonneaux, aging and maturation on less for at least 10 months.
