Lot Essay

The present composition refers to the Legend of Lykurgus of Sparta, who had two dogs; one that stayed at home and the other outside. The dog at home licks out a pot - as seen in the present work - and the other dog chases a hare. The active dog has been well educated whereas the dog in the present picture has become lazy.
