Le Petit Prince won the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly in 1954.
René Paris studied under Georges Gardet (1863-1939) and specialised, like his master, in animalier sculpture. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1906, where he received an honourable mention the following year and a gold medal in 1920.
