The cover finely decorated with a portrait of a lady in profile wearing a violet gown and a crown with pendant foliate charms set upon her flowing hair, her crown and dress cabochon-set with opalescent "pearls", within a flower-embellished, cabochon-set circlet, all upon an engine-turned ground beneath opaque white enamel decorated with trailing mistletoe, the back engraved with monogram
