Lot Essay

According to Dr. Thomas Folk, Carversville Farm in Pennsylvania is one of Redfield's favorite subjects in his body of work from the 1940s. Redfield painted at least five other versions of the farm from different vantage points.

This painting will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of Edward Redfield's work being compiled by Dr. Thomas Folk.
