The present work is a preliminary study for Deux mères et leurs enfants en bateau, 1910, currently in the collection of Musée du Petit Palais, Paris.

This watercolor will be included in the Cassatt Committee's revision of Adelyn Dohme Breeskin's catalogue raisonné of the works of Mary Cassatt.
