A RARE EMBELLISHED BRONZE WALL VASE WITH A TIMEPIECE
QING DYANSTY, LATE 18TH CENTURY

The watch with a white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals surrounded by a pearl-set bezel, set into the centre of the elaborately embellished wall-vase inlaid with a mosaic of irregular-shaped pearl-coloured glass between floral sprigs detailed in red and green glass, the contours of the vase defined with further seed-pearls and blue glass borders, the integral tripod stand picked out in purple glass, the vase issuing gilt metal leafy branches, the gilt bronze backplate and sides engraved with whimsical arabesques surrounding openwork flowerheads
