Well-potted of rectangular section with a stepped foot, the low sides gently flaring, rising to the broad mouth rims, covered overall with a lustrous glaze of lavender-blue tone suffused with fine crackles, the wide foot ring dressed with a brown wash, the interior with two ,

Lot Essay

No other examples of jardinières of this large form in Ru-type glaze appear to have been published. A similar jardinière with four additional bracket feet is featured in a hanging scroll painting by the Court artist, Ding Guanping, entitled 'Palace Ladies Chatting', ,
illustrated in The Golden Exile, Macao, 2002, no. 46.
