In 1782, Henry Ridgeway of Newton Hall, Mobberly, Cheshire conveyed a parcel of land at Knolls Green to Samuel Jepson for the purpose of building a Congregational Chapel. This chandelier, probably by the Birmingham brass-founder James Haywood (d.1808) was a gift to the Knolls Green Congregational Chapel in 1783. It is further illustrated in the National Monuments Record (NMR BB81/7725).
