1964 PETRUS
Château Pétrus--Vintage 1964
Pomerol, cru exceptionnel. Château-bottled
Lightly bin-soiled labels, one damagd and one stained. Levels: one very top, one top and four upper/top-shoulder
Tasting note: From the start a wonderful wine; almost indecently packed with fruit and all good things; fleshy, fragrant - a whiff of volatile acidity noted on a couple of occaisions. Most recently, a superb double magnum from Tom Black's cellar at a dinner for the Russian National Orchestra: impressively deep and still youthful; low-keyed but harmonious and complete nose. Last tasted at Mosimann's, London, Dec 2000 Michael Broadbent, Vintage Wine
