A GROUP OF NINE JADE CICADA AND PUPAE CARVINGS, SHANG/EARLY WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY (1600-771BC)
comprising two similar pendants of cicada chrysalis, the first of light green tone, the second of opaque yellowish grey tone, both slightly altered to white in small areas; a thin flattened cicada pendant of yellowish russet tone; two similar semi-circular pendants of a rabbit emerging from a chrysalis, the first altered to an opaque greyish white tone, the second of a russet tone; a slender honey-coloured jade cicada chrysalis; two very small stylised cicada chrysalis pendants, both of dark green tone; and one dark green jade pendant of a cicada emerging from a chrysalis -- the first, 1 3/8in. (3.6cm.) long. (9)
