A DARK CELADON JADE APPLIQUE IN THE FORM OF A CRESTED BIRD, LATE SHANG/WESTERN ZHOU (1600-771BC)
of dark green stone with traces of cinnabar, minor alteration to stone in chest area, with long tail feathers and incised body and eye embellishments, small drill hole to edge of breast; a pale celadon jade goose plaque with alteration of the stone to the outer extremities, with long neck and incised foot detailing, drill hole to chest, Western Zhou (1100-771BC); a jade cicada formed pendant, the stone altered through bronze corrosion, with geometically stylised front legs, incised detailing it its back, Shang (1600-1100BC); a small pale celadon jade bird formed applique with areas of alteration of stone, incised eye detail and drill hole to breat, Shang/Western Zhou (1600-771BC) -- the first, 2 1/8in. (5.5cm.) wide. (4)
