the Buddha seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base with a serene and well modelled facial expression, with typical long earlobes and raised ushnisha, holding a small vessel in his raised right hand and wearing long robes tied above the waist incised inscription to the reverse base reading 'Henan, Kaifeng fu, Cheng zhuan, Bo anli, cast by Wang Zhong Cai and his wife Zhao in their ironmongers on the third month, thirty-second year of Jiajing, made as a sincere offering' -- 14¼in. (36.3cm.) high.
