A hon-zukuri katana, iori-mune of deep curvature, chu-kissaki, o-itame nagare hada with thick jinie and shirake, hamon of undulating suguha with clusters of gunome, o-maru boshi, in its tachi mounting comprising gold nashiji saya with paulownia mon, long kojiri and matching kanagu of shakudo nanako with gold inlaid paulownia mon, gilt taiko-gane with paulownia mon, the menuki, tsuba, and hilt binding missing

The kiri-tsuke mei inscription is an attribution to a smith named Masahiro. Although the blade is rubbed so that the details are indistinct, the hada and shape of the tang indicate the late Soshu school.
