Drs. F. Kuyvenhoven has tentatively confirmed the attribution pointing out that this could have been a collaboration with the artist's father, Josephus Augustus Knip. Comparable landscapes by both artists are published by F. Kuyvenhoven and R. Peeters, De Familie Knip, Drie generaties kunstenaars uit Noord-Brabant, exhib. cat., Zwolle, 1988.
