The centre enamelled with a crested coat-of-arms, the well with a diaper pattern and panels and the rim with an interlaced design with emblems and hanging swags
23 cm diam.

Lot Essay

The arms are those of Proli and Torriano. The Torriano's were originally an Italian family living in London. Various family members occupied relevant posts in the East India Company. Pierre Proli was one of the seven directors of the Ostend Company.
