The arms are those of Mr. Thymen van Schoonhoven (1710-1766), member of the Leiden town council, and Elizabeth Geraerds (1720-1751). The border decoration is taken from Viennese Du Paquier porcelain. Compare with a similar plate in the Royal Museum of Art and History, Brussels, included in the 1989/90 exhibition, Catalogue no. 99, pp. 250 and 251.
