The circular disk affixed to the handle by an arched support embellished with spirals and two griffin protomai, a hooked horse hoof projecting behind, the fluted handle bordered on each end with raised moldings, terminating in the forepart of a panther, with erect ears, open mouth and lolling tongue, the forelegs extended
