A GREEK BRONZE HELMET OF ILLYRIAN TYPE
ARCHAIC PERIOD, CIRCA 6TH CENTURY B.C.
Of hammered sheet, with a wide flaring neck-guard, two sets of three raised parallel ridges running front to back across the crown, a perforation between each end, likely for attachment of a crest, a raised ridge around the perimeter with evenly-spaced bronze rivets along the edge, each cheek-guard perforated at the forward tip within the border, with two horizontal ridges across the brow
