A ROMAN MARBLE HEAD OF A GODDESS
CIRCA 1ST- 2ND CENTURY A.D.
Over-lifesized, her head slightly inclined to the left, her smooth oval face with soft cheekbones, the unarticulated almond-shaped eyes with heavy lids under softly-modelled brows, the inner canthi drilled, her bow-shaped mouth with the lips slightly parted, the philtrum indicated, her chin rounded, the hair a mass of upswept, thick wavy locks covering the top of her small ears, center parted and bound in a chignon at the back, remains of an iron pin at the crown of the head for the attachment of a now-missing attribute
