An important five-piece famille rose garniture
Qianlong
Comprising three baluster jars and covers and two beaker vases, enamelled in the mandarin palette with two large scroll panels enclosing on one side a group of figures and dogs standing around a puppy on a table, the other side with a group of conversing figures beside a pavilion on a river bank with a church in the background, surrounded by similarly shaped smaller cartouches of pink roses, landscapes, chickens and water fowl, all reserved on an iron-red, black and gilt Y-pattern ground, below a spearhead, trellis and chain pattern band to the neck, the covers and beaker vases with shaped rims (some old damage and repair)
