Lot Essay

For a two similar vases and covers, see Important Italian Maiolica from the Collections of Arthur M. Sackler, Christie's, New York, Part I, 6 October 1993, lot 64 ($46,000) and Part II, 1 June 1994, lot 53 ($36,800). The first was re-offered in London at Christie's King Street, 6 December 2004, lot 336 with an estimate of 10,000-15,000 ($19,425-29,137) where it went unsold.
