[Germany, late 15th Century]215 x 148mm. 36 leaves: 114, 212, 310, one early annotation in German, the Andreae text with justification 155 x 66mm, with copious marginal glosses and annotations, illustrated with 4 full-page or double-page tables showing the arbor consanguinitatis, the 'Arbor affinitatis', the 'Arbor spiritualis cognationis affinitatis' and the 'Arbor legalis cognationis' (some worming throughout). Later vellum boards, paper wrappers.

Johannes Andreae, one of the great canonists of the later Middle Ages, is chiefly associated with the University of Bologna. Amongst his prolific writings the most influential were his commentaries on papal decretals.
