Lithographed title printed in red and gilt, tinted folding panorama of Moscow, 18 full-page chromolithographs, some of these mounted as issued on thick paper with printed bilingual captions, by various engravers for Lemercier after Zichy, Timm, and others, and 32 lithographed illustrations, two of these in colour, printed on india paper and mounted as issued. (Spotting but generally not affecting the chromos, marginal dampstain, a very few marginal tears repaired). Original green morocco, upper side gilt with a large block of the imperial regalia, gilt edges (rebacked and with some restoration, without original brass catches and clasp, leather brittle and with some loss).
FIRST EDITION OF THE MOST SUMPTUOUS OF THE IMPERIAL CORONATION ALBUMS. The French-language issue, with fine chromolithographs mostly after Timm and Zichy. Privately issued at the time of the coronation to guests and participants, it is 'one of the most spectacular and ambitious Russian imprints of the century, it was never offered for sale and is a great bibliographic rarity.
