Oblong 2° (478 x 670mm). Engraved title, engraved table of contents and 90 engraved plates. (Occasional very light spotting, tear to front free endpaper without loss.) Contemporary russia gilt, panelled covers with wide gilt tooled border, marbled endpapers and edges (extremities lightly rubbed, front hinge slightly weak).

FIRST EDITION OF 'THE FIRST SURVEY OF WORLD ARCHITECTURE BASED ON BUILDING TYPES' (RIBA). Second issue of plates, corresponding with RIBA 956. Brunet II, 904; Millard French 67 (both with first issue of plates); cf. Mongland V, cols 349-353 (list of plates).
