Habert de Montmor was Master of Requests and a member of the French Academy. His library was bound by Le Gascon and Olivier illustrates an identical cover also on a book printed by Jansson at Amsterdam.

Contemporary sheep, richly gilt with roll-borders and monogram 'PS' at centers and corners of both covers and on spine, gilt edges (rubbed, corners bumped). Provenance: From the library of the College du Plessis-Sorbonne. The College was refounded by Cardinal Richelieu who appointed Charles Gobinet as his first principal. (2)
