Probably excavated with tapering blade cut with a very shallow fuller running from the base to the forte and with running wolf mark inlaid in latten on one side, struck with a circular mark on one side of the tang, fluted S-shaped ribbon-like quillons, and rectangular pommel raised in the centre and capped by a brass bevelled washer

A closely similar example is included in the collections assembled from booty captured by the Ottomans and now preserved in the Topkapi and Askeri Museums, Istanbul. See D. G. Alexander, European Swords in the Collections of Istanbul, Part II, Waffen und Kostkunde, 1987, heft 1, pp.25 and 39, No.108 (illustrated).
