MARIA ANTONIA WALPURGIS SYMPHOROSA, princess of Bavaria (1724-1780), Electress of Saxony, was a German composer, singer, harpsichordist and patron, known particularly for her operas Il trionfo della fedeltá (Dresden, 1754) and Talestri, regina delle amazzoni (Munich, 1760). In 1747 she became a member of the Accademia dell'Arcadia of Rome, and published the above opera under her Accademia name: E(rmelinda) T(alia) P(astorella) A(rcada). Berlin 4154.
