This abundantly illustrated book (31 full-page, double-page, and folding plates) relates the festivities held in Naples from 10 January through 4 March 1680 to celebrate the wedding of CHARLES II (1661-1700), King of Spain and MARIE LOUISE D'ORLéANS (1662-1689), coinciding with the Neapolitan carnival. Included are two extensive panoramic views showing the procession, and a wide prospective view of Naples, and the tournament, during which a joust and other equestrian games are been played. Nine of the double-page plates list the participants in the quadrilles; many of the remaining plates show the public notices of the entries of the various dignitaries attending the festivities.
