Emperor CHARLES VI (1685-1740) hosted this celebration of the birthday of Empress ELISABETH CHRISTIANAE (1691-1750) with a play Costanza e Fortezza by the court poet PIETRO PARIATI and music by JOHANN JOSEPH FUX (1660-1741). The play is translated from the Italian by ANTON PROKOFF. The plates depict the stage designs of the various scenes. The plates seem to have been sold without the text. Both the Berlin and the Drugulin copies do not refer to the text. Berlin (7 plates); Drugulin 4032 (6 plates only).
