Two engraved depictions of the famous illuminations ball in Vienna on 12 January 1744 during the wedding festivities for CHARLES ALEXANDER of Lorraine, the brother of Franz I, and MARIA ANNA of Austria. There 40 crystal chandeliers illuminated by 8,000 candles in the ballroom. (One lined on verso, and trimmed within platemark.) 503 x 650 mm and small. (2)
