Each inlaid to all sides with a cube pattern, the shaped rectangular top with moulded border above a drawer enclosing three later silvered compartments and a gilt-tooled brown leather-lined writing-slide concealing a further compartment with a secret drawer, above a pair of cupboard doors enclosing four later compartments, on cabriole legs and foliate sabots, bearing the stamp 'P. ROUSSEL', one inscribed 'C' in black to the underside, the mounts re-gilt
