A Silver Spicetower
Maker's mark I.R. and standard mark 12, probably Germany late 18th Century
Set on a circular part-fluted domed base, a tapering cylindrical stem, the square spice section engraved on each corner with brickwork, pierced with rosette on two sides and pierced with arched window-shaped openings on the other two sides, the front fitted with a hinged door, closing on a hook, fitted above with a pierced gallery, surmounted by a tapering spire engraved and pierced to resemble roof-tiles and windows, topped by a ball and pennant finial (pennant now lacking)
