Lot Essay

Georges Jacob, maître in 1765.

These chairs are very close in overall form and decorative details to a suite made by Jacob in 1787 for the Salon des Jeux at the Château St. Cloud (illustrated in P. Kjellberg, Le Mobilier Français du XVIIIe Siècle, Paris, 1989, p. 419).
