The rectangular top with eared corners and inset with a tooled green leather writing surface, above an alternating foliate and fluted frieze centred to both sides with a Mercury sunburst mask, the front fitted with a drawer with drop-down flap, the interior lined with a leather writing surface and fitted with four drawers and two pigeon-holes, on tapering fluted legs and capped feet; the underside stamped twice 'WASSMUS'
